Is it compatible with version 3.2.8?

As with all extensions you should test it first. Look in the support tab, there's bound to be someone who has tried it on the version you're running.

The only other place you can change the date is in the database.

Can someone explain me how to change the date to the old one, is it even possible?
IIRC a bump adds a post mentioning it's a bump. It's that bump which changes the last post date of the topic. Deleting the bump post should reset the topic last post date to the date of the post just before the bump.
Disclaimer: no access to a board at this time so I didn't test this.
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

No. No post (reply) will be added to begin with.

So you thought that's how it worked, and you took it for granted somehow?

I've never used (nor allowed) bumping but I've seen bumps somewhere op phpBB.com WITH a message along the lines of :bump: so that's how I thought it worked: The disclaimer I posted was precisely to make it clear that I didn't know (I was planning on testing it as soon as I can access a testing board - which won't be for today anymore).

Somehow I don't even see this option anymore, even if I change settings to 3 days. What can be the reason?

So what did you change? Things are not changing suddenly... out of the blue?

Nothing else, just put 3 days instead of 10 as it used before.

If the time limit has been not yet trespassed that's correct.

I made this change some time ago and I could see this option immediately in all old topics but not anymore.

There is a forum permission "f_bump" that you can use on a per forum/user or group basis. Look at it.

bit off topic:

i set enable "Bump Topic" for a certain group. however if user make new post of that group, can bump topic. but for old topic "bump topic" option is not showing. is there any days limit like after a certain days topic cannot be bump?

You could try this:

OPEN: includes/functions_content.php

FIND:

Code: Select all

if (!$auth->acl_get('f_bump', $forum_id) || $topic_bumped)
REPLACE WITH:

Code: Select all

if (!$auth->acl_get('f_bump', $forum_id))

but...this is phpbb core code change ....and it could be removed/overwritten after the next update/upgrade.
