Convert and merge accounts/members/users from CMS to PHPBB

Post by Durbatuluk » Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:24 am

Hello all,

I am trying to connect two systems together. FusionCMS available here: https://gitlab.com/omghixd/fusiongen/tree/master which uses SHA1 encryption and newest phpbb system I think now it is 3.2.7.

There is already a bridge prepared for phpbb: https://gitlab.com/omghixd/fusiongen/bl ... /phpbb.php

My questions are:
1) How can I move already existing users from that CMS to PHPBB? (not only new created users).
2) Is the bridge from your point of view correct?
3) Can I connect it together so if someone changes the password or email through that CMS so that change is done also in the phpbb database?

I am not a coder so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

You would be better off talking to the authors of those two pieces of software. They haven’t come from here so all the knowledge would be with the authors.

You would probably be better asking those questions of the author of the bridge or on a FusionCMS forum.

Hi all,
well they are not really available anymore and do not want to do this. That is why I am asking here as you know phpbb the most here and maybe could help me see if everything is ok. I can give you info from CMS I have and we could make it together for others as well.

For this is only critical to convert users and their details, nothing more. I think we can make it from the information we have available as it is opensource CMS.

I would suggest that you set up a test server (which you will need to do anyway) and try it to see if it does what you want.

Well,
It does ok the registration part it seems, what I need help with is the update part of the password or other changes done.

Or maybe create some sort of update script and creation script from scratch. Ok I will create singl point of creation from scratch and close this one.

Please, close this topic, I will create another one.
