Language Changes Back After Login

Post by AdirA »

Hello,

I have installed a language package, the package works great when logged out, but it returns to English when logged in.

Why is that?
Is there any setting I didn't change?

Did you set your language to the "new" language in the UCP?

I did it now and it worked, thanks a lot!
If I may, I have two more questions:
The first is: Is there a way to make the timezone and language as default to everyone?
Because I did set it in the ACP, and thought it changes as default to everyone.

The second is: Is there a way to change strings of a language pack?

Thanks again!

The timezone in the ACP is the default one, users can/have to change them in the UCP

Yes, what do you want to change?
Sorry! My English is bat ;) !!!

I found it. :)

For those who don't know, it's in (phpbb root)/language/YOUR_LANGUAGE/common.php

That is one of many files that contains the language strings.

Remember this - if you change one of those strings for a specific purpose there is a possibility that it is used elsewhere, and may not make sense, and whenever there is an update/upgrade you may have to reapply those changes. Also if you do not use the correct type of editor you run the risk of breaking your board.
