Recommended style for visually impaired?

Post by bsdmike »

Can anybody recommend a style that gives a good user experience for visually impaired?

I am willing to try several...want to make the experience on my site better.

Since the upgrade, subsilver is no longer working. (Might it work if I add it back or will the old 3.1 styles have no hope?)

Is there anything else besides subsilver I might try?

Thank you,
Mike

3.1.x styles will not work with 3.2.x. Visually impaired in what way? And how is Subsilver better than prosilver in this regard?

If you really want to continue with subsilver you could try Allan Style (viewtopic.php?f=581&t=2412546) which inherits from prosilver. I haven't tried it so no guarantees.
BTW the last version is for 3.2.1 (and as with any custom style it will take some time before it is updated to the latest version of phpBB).
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

I would also suggest that allowing the user to enlarge the font may prove useful.

In addition I have found Black Letters on a Light Yellow Background beneficial to people with Macular Degeneration. (light blue has also been cited as helpful)
