Style and refreshing

Post by rafnews »

Hi,

i installed a style that i'm customizing. I have some issue with refreshing as CTRL+F5 or simply F5 does not refresh the company logo.
I tried to purge the cache from ACP but without success to see new logo display on the front end.
Any idea what could i try as i do not want to desactivate my theme, to activate and set as default prosilver, and to go back to my theme and set as default and activate it back, to see changes on frontend.

thx

After you have edited html files you need to purge cache. If cache is not the case here, it may be wrong path to img, no img exists or positioning issue. Try to view page source to see if it is there or not.

Easier, while you are working on a style, is to go to ACP, Load settings and set Recompile stale style components to Yes. Change it back when you are done.

I always "purge cache" after doing some update in css, html or any other file.

I already have set up "Recompile stale style components:" to Yes as i use phpbb v 3.2.2

None of those 2 things helped me to get and updated version of my Logo.

In fact page still shows previous logo, but not the new one. :(

I use AWS, but why it does not impact the html file instead of only 1 image (the logo) that is setup in the css file?

that's weird.

i did an online change using Chrome developer's tool and image has the correct path and size... it's just that the css having the new setting is not loaded but only the former version.

how about a link to your board so we can see what you are doing.

also a link to the actual logo image you are trying to use.

Whatever change i do in css FILES, none of them is visible on the page.

I disable all cache system and nothing changed.

i wonder if i should not change the theme... because this is very weird

i did.... but for unknown reason it does not represent the current css file available on the server.

that's why i clearthe cache from server and from phpbb, but none of these solutions resolved the issue.
It's like non of css files updated are loaded

If you upload the file it must be there with the changes.

So you are doing something wrong with the upload or work on the wrong file.
