How to have a unique forum

Post by kamaleon » Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:26 am

Hello,

What is the best way to have a unique forum (I mean colors and aspect) and still have the extensions to properly display?

Thank you

Before going any further can we establish terminology.

Are you referring to the board i.e. the whole of the phpBB installation or a forum which is one of the fora of the board?

With all of the boards that are out there I doubt that yours will be unique anyway.

Yeah, I refer about the board.

The thing is, if I use any custom made theme, then the problem will be with the extensions not displaying well.

So what is the solution? To customize my CSS with the prosilver theme?

If you create a "child" style based on prosilver then most extensions should work without any issues. If the don't then you will need to create the necessary files in the extension for your style.

I've got a pretty unique board look - it's a child theme of prosilver produced by a contributor here. All my extensions work just fine.... those that are "themed" show the theme for the board.
