Looking for an innovative modern forum style>>

Post by speeds »

Hi,
I'm looking for a forum style like this:
https://themeforest.net/item/volare-mat ... e/21578782
I want a style with great text, good font, screen width and more, because the usual design templates look very outdated and out of date and not modern.
In the example and the link I have come up with a well-designed template that looks like a modern forum, the problem is that it costs money ...
Does one of the members here have a similar pattern to this? Or where can I get a similar template?
I would be very happy to help!
thank you very much!

Why not buy that one? It's not exactly a bank breaker at $17?

With what, and how exactly would you help? :?
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Have you had a look at The Styles Demo Board?

You could take a look at we_universal.

The Styles demo board is broken and does not show this style, but there is a list of real-world boards using it at: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styl ... pic/206671

If it doesn't suit you needs, I would be interested in your feedback.

that style has not worked properly for at least the last two versions.

take a look at the styles demo that is now working again.

Demo section needs some serious attention, but the theme is working just fine with 3.2.8 currently.

I doubt that the phpBB team would have approved the style for the styles database if it was broken. It really is the demo board that can't cope with it.

sorry Mike, but it is a problem with the style. apparently the link to the dashboard.jpg image is missing or broken or whatever.

do you see this when you view the demo?
Movavi ScreenShot 001 - phpBB 3.2.x Styles Demo Board - Index page - www.phpbb.com.jpg
when I download and install the style, it works perfectly. when I rename the dashboard.jpg file I get the same thing that shows in the attached image and that shows on the demo board.

to me that means that the version of the style they are using for the demo board is where the problem is.
I don't know what it works, whether you have access to the actual fileset that phpbb.com is using for the demo board or if the staff here does.
somebody should fix it probably.

OK, the behaviour has now been explained, another 'undocumented feature' of phpBB. It will be fixed in the next release of we_universal.

HI there,

I'm the developer of the theme you linked to in the original post.

Indeed it does cost $17, although this factors in the time spent developing & testing it, post-sales bug support / fixes, and it'll be updated with every single phpBB maintenance release as long as it's available for sale. I normally roll out updates 24-48 hours after a phpBB update :)

ThemeForest hold item authors to account for the stability of their products, which is something you won't get with a freebie. I have some free products myself, but I don't think I've bothered updating them since 3.2.3, as it's not really worth it. Other authors probably feel the same.
