Free Text Editors

Hi, I currently use Note Tab Lite.

I had been advised a while back that Crimson Editor was best because it saves without BOM, which is neccessary for writing php files.

However, I don't like Crimson too much, for various personal reasons. :)

I was wondering if anyone knows of any alternative free text editors, that will save without BOM?

Many thanks.

I especially like the fact that it integrates into Internet Explorer's view source function and the right-click - Edit with Notepad++ is also pretty handy when you don't want your PHP files or HTML files to open up with the default program. Also color codes.

I hope nobody kills me when I say that I don't like notepad++, it uses Comic Sans Ms as one of the fonts and I can't be bothered to compile it from source, let alone change that part of the code.

Settings -> Style Configurator -> php -> COMMENT and COMMENTLINE

Change it from Comic Sans MS. This thing is almost completely customizable.
