LCD monitors don't use much, probably 20-30w.

Routers definitely do not use much. ;)

My plasma uses 312.84 watts when on...and I don't plan on turning it off (March madness is on!!).

Find out how much energy your HDTV uses

Just offset that piggy plasma by turning off the equivalent amount of other things. :D Watched Louisville go down in flames earlier and just heard that Oklahoma lost, YES! Payback for Friday night. :|

my HDTV score = Good

I would but...I also have a pig of a HT receiver (Harmon Kardon 7200), a pig of a power conditioner (Tripplite LCR), a pig of a set top DVR (Motorola something or other), etc...etc.

All of which have to be on for me to watch TV. ;)

..and I won't even get into the 6 person, 500 gallon hot tub that runs continously. ;)

Go UConn!!

Ironically (or not), your computer uses more electricity than every light in the room you are in combined. What exactly are you trying to prove by doing this?
woah! what kind of a computer do you have? mine doesn't use that much.
Mine uses 85 watts… although, in this room there are 13W light bulbs (energy efficient)
but instead of turning my lights off at 8:30, I think I'll just go to bed an hour earlier and get up an hour earlier :)
it'll have the same end result and I'll be able to get more work done and I don't have to support the global warming causes (although, I'm all for being green… I hate the global warming causes)

actually, I didn't realize that, but I did (oddly enough) get in bed an hour earlier than I usually do and I got up early this morning and made the most of the daylight :)

Wow, and I thought I was bad. I at least had the common courtesy to turn on a few energy saver light bulbs and an energy saver remote control stereo system. :)

Nah, I'm just fooling. I am the type who would turn on every light in my house and boot up my old ENIAC just in spite. But, if it's for Mother Earth, how bad can it be.

Are you trying to prove your premise in your The Degradation of Civilization topic? :| Not to worry, I and my peers make up for the lot of you. :D

Hey, If Al Gore couldn't be bothered to turn off all the lights and TV's in his Energy Inefficient Mansion™, why should we?
I understand that when you consume nearly 20 times more electricity than the average American, you can spend all day turning off your lights and still miss a few. I’m sure this was the case for Mr. Gore.
