The pluses and minuses of Spring

Generally, overall, I like spring. Trees are budding, flowers rising, Crew season starting on the water again (/me loves a good "pyramid" to give the lads to do), there is, however, one thing that just annoys the crapola out of me.

My darn allergies!! I've had a runny nose, itching watery eyes and very powerful sneezing for the past several days. Drugs, no offense to the user, don't work unless I semi-od on the things (like take 3-4 sudafeds).

Is there anyone else in the "same boat" as me and what do you do other than doping up on, ermmm, dope.

/me runs off to blow his nose...and get more coffee!!

+ Fresh fruit
+ fresh herbs
+ Spring beer and cheese

- allergies
- mosquitoes and other pesky insects
- garbage starts smelling again

Pros: Warm sun, better business (for me), bikinis.

Cons: Allergies (mine only last for a few weeks), the water isn't quite warm enough for swimming.

I used to take Benadryl but only after an attack and it basically knocked me unconscious. I had an allergy induced asthma attack for the fist time in my life last year while mowing the lawn. Doctor put me on Claritin-D right away which I need to take during high pollen counts. Other than that I just suck it up as I live on 100+ acre farm.

+ all my bulbs come up
+ birdsong is back
+ grass starts to green up
+ trees start to bud
+ my lilacs bloom

- mud
- cleaning up 3.5 acres of winter lawn debris from maples, willows & black walnuts
- cleaning out flower beds
- having to start mowing the lawn
- spring housecleaning

Thankfully my allergies are so mild I never usually take any drugs now.

The good:
-Warm and nice outside
-Shorts and t-shirts
-"Crops" coming in
-My girlfriends birthday(Today)
-Party

The Bad
-Way too hot here in the late summer
-Humidity
-Mowing once a week (I'm not lazy but once every two weeks would be nice)
-Bugs

pros:

beautiful green trees
beautiful flowers
was finally able to plant my 4 10 foot tall evergreen/juniper trees.

cons:

the constant wind
that wind hitting 50 MPH the day after I planted my new trees and blowing the all down.
now I have to do it all over again.
not having a wind generator to capture some of that damn wind

+warm weather
+sunshine
+rain instead of snow, I love thunderstorms

-allergies (ragweed) - 1 pill and I'm good for the day though, not a big problem anymore

-bugs, everywhere... I hate them creepy crawlers...
-birds - I'm not the type who likes to listen to birds chirping in the morning... It's annoying...

See if you can obtain some Acrivastine (Semprex-D apparently contains it, plus it has Pseudoephedrine). I find most allergy tablets try give you Cetirizine or Diphenhydramine which can prove very ineffective in people like me who get terrible heyfeaver. The other advantage is that Acrivastine doesn't make you tired like other ones can.

Zyrtec works for my allergies. I have the same watery, puffy, itchy eyes, constant sneezing, etc.
