Note that solicitation of services isn't allowed here at phpBB.com. However, many people here offer their services and typically advertise their services in their signatures. :)

Recruiting members for your own projects (moderators, designers, professional MOD work, etc.) is not permitted and is also considered spam....rules where applicable also apply to private messaging.
Are you saying it is OK for people to post, what what site considers spam, in their signatures?
How does one contact people that advertise their services in their signatures without using private messaging?

Maybe just post what you would like to change on your forum and maybe there is already a guide on how to do it.

I'am still far from what you would call a expert, but thanks to this forum i now know a lot more than i did in the beginning.
It's better i feel that you try and learn a little yourself, rather than paying someone to do all the work.

contacting someone that lists their services in their sig file is not the same thing as you soliciting for paid help in the public forum.

it is ok to use the PM system for this or whatever method the person offering their services provides for you to contact them.

Try freelancer.com. You're guaranteed to get several bids on you phpbb project.

@JRmastering777: I think the OP will have sorted out his issue by now, this topic is eighteen months old. If anyone is seeking such help I recommend that first you click the teams link and check the team members signatures, there are several offering private work.

I didn't think that forum posts and replies are specifically for the poster based on the day they posted. Anyone who searches for a topic can be directed to any post from any date, AND thousands of people look at old posts for information.

90% of the information im getting setting up my PHPBB is from post 2-3 years old. I'm glad people replied to them and I don't really care when.

I've had better work on upwork to be honest. I don't like freelancer.

Odesk is a great source. I think they changed their name to something else - but look for developers in India. They give the most bang for the buck.

Due to my bad experience with Indian IT skills I advise everybody to take those words literally. Better invest more to not let everything bang.

I would STRONGLY advice against taking this route. There are many pitfalls which I know from my web development circles, so please find a reputable service closer to home, wherever that may be! (unless you are in India  ).

All the best,
Cal :)
