GTMetrix recommends that the following images should be combined into as few images as possible using CSS sprites:-

/styles/prosilver/imageset/forum_read.gif
/styles/prosilver/imageset/icon_topic_latest.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/bg_button.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/bg_header.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/bg_list.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/corners_left.png
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/corners_right.png
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/gradient.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_faq.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_fontsize.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_home.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_logout.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_register.gif
/styles/prosilver/theme/images/icon_rules.png

I tried using spriteme.org but no luck. Can anybody please help me in this regard?

Unless you are going to change almost all CSS for those sprites (including how it is applied to elements) combining images is pointless.

Items where those images are used as backgrounds do not have fixed width/height, so using sprite as background will result in other elements of sprite appearing in wrong places.
