WS FTP Pro is not compatible with Windows 10

I have been using WS FTP ever since becoming an Admin on a phpBB2 site over ten years ago and all the way through to now

I am now shocked after upgrading to Windows 10 to get this from WS FTP

I am sure there is a lot of software that will need to be updated.

I have a warning on my Vipre Business control console that the Vipre Premium agent is broken by Windows 10.

FWIW I am leaving it for everyone else to do all the bug hunting on W10 before I upgrade.

That way all of the wrinkles should be ironed out and all of my hardware will have new drivers.

Theres no rush anyway, the 'free' upgrade is valid until July 2016

Nothing.
We still have 200 workstations on XP. We will not be upgrading to Windows 10 in the foreseeable future.

I thought I was a procrastinator. I did not update to XP from 98 until shortly before EOL for XP.

I was a couple of years late going to win7

had no desire for win 8 and really have no desire for win 10. all of the sneaky crap I have read about for win 10 makes me not even want it at all.

my personal computer
my htpc
NAS
mom's laptop
mom's htpc
brother's computer
test bench computer

all running on win 7 ultimate
all networked using windows home group
why fix it when it aint broke.

Being an early adopter is awesome, but it means putting up with growing pains. The new Microsoft Edge browser doesn't even have support for extensions yet. I don't do Windows, but if I did, I'd wait on this.

When I move to W10 it will be following http://www.tweakhound.com tweaking guide. I have used his guides for everything from XP onwards. Gets rid of the rubbish you don't need and leaves alone all of the bad tweaks other so called experts give that screw up your PC

Meh, been on Windows 10 for 7+ months now and the only problem I've had is that the search bar didn't work in the earlier builds. It is much faster than Windows 7 ever was and just a hair faster than Windows 8.1. Loving the muli-desktop and new snap features

Why would you want to do any of that lol

Disabling Hibernate - I could see on a SSD but other than that not any reason unless you have a small HDD
Disabling Fast Startup - lol how could that improve performance

(If your dual booting then yes disable it)
Cortana I have found it somewhat useful but to each his own.
Hide Search - Search is the easiest way to load a program, just hit win key and type name

Most of the other things in that guide are defaults or can easily be changed via menu options

1) I have SSD so it is highly relevant

2) Cortana? Who needs that? I certainly don't on an immobile PC. (although I can see it may be useful on a mobile phone/tablet)

3) Search. I know where my programs are

4) Yes, some/all of the entries on the reg edit list can be disabled in menu options, but this way is far quicker

5) You do not HAVE to do any/all of his tweaks. Its a GUIDE
