"without the viruses" ??

If you're using the official site, you should be ok : https://filezilla-project.org/

Just don't download it from http://sourceforge.net, they are notorious for adding bloatware to downloads.
Ummm... OBJECTION ! (sorry for the ace attorney reference, hehe)
For your information, the links on the official site ACTUALLY lead to Sourceforge !
I leave you the link so you can look for yourself : https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?show_all=1

That's why I switched to WinSCP when I moved back to Windows when I bought a used laptop this fall.

Why bother with these ancient interfaces when there are better more compact clients out there?

Behold CyberDuck. Small neat interface that only shows remote files. You can use it with your favorite file manager to drag/drop files from/to it.

I've been using it for few years on both Mac and Windows. Don't want to see clients with ancient 2 panel UI ever again.

They make sense when you want to compare directory contents and display/syncing differences, or when using FXP.

and, most of the "ancient two panel" programs can be set to only show one panel or four panels or whatever.

I will have to look at cyberduck. I have been meaning to do so for a long time, looks like today is its lucky day.

You should always download software or a program from their official website that developed it. This will make downloads more easier and trusted. Third party sites that have a software or program you need should be an alternative if the main site is unavailable. Keep this as a future reference for any downloads. https://filezilla-project.org/ (project site is the official site). For instance, would you download Microsoft office from the Microsoft Website or an unknown website that has the same program? You are better off getting a safe download from the official website than the unknown site because someone might infect the files with a virus. There is nothing wrong from getting files from third parties, but always have caution on what and where you download files onto your computer. A virus can harm your computer! Luckily, anti-virus applications can notify you if any file prior to download contains any infections or malware. I hope this helps! :)

Ugh, have you actually looked at the URIs on their homepage? All the files reside on http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/files/. I mean: it's certainly not the best example for "always go the vendor's website".
