The way your definition stands in it's dogmatic universality: no, never.
It's a single sided, self-centered and therefore one-dimensional definition that can't do any of those "involved" any good, not in the long run.

If he were a true friend of yours he wouldn't; if you were a true friend of his you couldn't expect him to do so ...
But expecting this you seem to do: why else would you define "true friendship" this way ...

a true friend is someone who would try to help you with whatever problem it is that causes you to think that your friend should be willing to "rot in hell for you".

I true friend would try to help you from making choices that would create that situation in the first place.

and/or, a true friend would take care of things for you while you are rotting in hell. ( like your wife, your dog, your money, etc.)
