Mine is quite old from about 2006. But there is too much on t to update so it will run on my surest server. It's slowly dropping functionality and so I need to build it again using a BASE that will update easily.

I'm not doing too badly :) I did have another from circa 2002 but reluctantly closed that a couple of years ago when the market interest dropped to nothing in the recession.

My one, forex-station, is 4 years old and grown from a tiny little forum to about half a million users per month now.

Planning on staying with PhpBB forever :)

Our forum has Apr 11, 2000 in the ACP.
I don't know whether this date is reliable.

That's older than our (current) one. Impressive. :)

I suspect that could be very unreliable as phpBB 1.0.0 was not released until December 2000

Paul,
That is the reason why I expressed my doubts about the reliability of this date.

It is also possible that we used another bulletin board software which was later on converted to some early version of phpBB. I seem to remember that the bulletin board was severely hacked and that we had a hard time getting all pieces together.

I only joined the board in 2005.

That's something I hadn't even considered before. Indeed, phpBB converters like the vBulletin converter did create a start date based on data from the board being converted. Indeed making it not "impossible" to see a phpBB start date that pre-dates the release of phpBB itself. Neat.

I inherited our site, but it says the start date is December 2008; which is about seven years before I was even around. I was using phpBB back that far though. For single-year, single-semester "online classroom"-type sites, which never needed to survive past the course end. So it was fun to resurrect and apply that knowledge once the EA117 site needed an admin and an upgrade.

I first had the forum at a freehoster with completely modified phpBB software.
All members had to register again and then I had to fetch all posts one by one - assign the correct member - insert the answer - assign the correct member etc. And this with all topics and answers  .
Too bad I forgot to create a screen of my first forum. It looked quite special (unsightly-eye-catching). You had to change / extend everything yourself and that took weeks. I also doubt today that it was programmed correctly by me . I don't think I could do that today either. Unfortunately, you don't get younger.
