I'm an American, and I don't understand the desire to use such slang.

Trust me I read it as sort of mint candy at first, then I realized it didn't make sense.
I had a New Zealand girlfriend who teaches English in Italy and we were together for 8 years,
I have to admit that I did not learn very well but because I also have other things to do ...
and really I am not a good alumn
But certain terms I have never heard or read before.
Besides, it almost seems kind of despicable when I think about it.
