400,000 Users

phpBB just got it's 400,000th registered user.

Not bad. 8-)

Those numbers are never really accurate. Depends on how you are handling stale accounts, spam accounts and how well you have managed to keep spammers in check over the years. The actual registrations by user ID is over 2 million here.

On my own forum I have just over 9K members BUT spammer accounts and stale 0 post accounts are no older than 2 years. Both the post count and user count are fairly accurate for real posts and members that have actually posted something. I have 77 posts per user, it's only ten here.

It is because we run mysql in a master slave setup, which require it as far as i know.

If you’d noticed before that number has been much higher than 400,000 in the past but since the middle of 2018 we’ve been taking a much more positive stance getting the spam numbers down. ‘Membership’ was below 300,000 at one time. It’s taken that length of time for it to reach 400,000 ‘members’ again. There are also tens of thousands of ‘registrants’ that never post or even come back once registered. You’ll notice it drop below 400,000 again.
