I care, I care not to help the pandemic but at the same time I have had enough. After 14 months or more of isolation I feel like a prisoner, I need to embrace my fellow man, my friends and girlfriends (above all :P ) and have a normal life like the one I have lived in my 57 years of excellent life (apart from the last one). I have had enough and I want answers. We Italians are used to a life of relationships, like many other nations I imagine. But for me it is a matter of life to be able to hug a friend, show affection and receive it, all this castrates the wings of anyone I know. I am particularly affected.

It's important to care because the more you break the rules the longer this all carries on for everyone.

Will things go back to normal? In my opinion, yes. Once we've got the world vaccinated it will become an annual top up jab like the flu ones. Variants will continue to materialise. The vaccines will have varying efficacy against them but by and large they should stop the spread and annual top up boosters will deal with any changes.

What will change is that many businesses will revaluate how they work. They will have days when people can work from home so commuting will drop a little and air quality will rise a bit in conjunction. Many will move to online selling much earlier than they had planned or will develop online ways to do things (my bank has just started allowing cheques to be paid in by app).

It might take another year or two to do it but we will be back to normal.

I am not interested in technical things but in human things, who cares if I can pay a cheque via APP? I personally don't care about that, I care about being able to take any flight to who knows where and relate freely with anyone. I care about being able to hug and kiss all the people who show the same intention towards me, I care about normal life.

I am interested in being free and getting my life back!

Sooner or later this corona-crisis will be over and done with and you'll have some choices: e.g. go on holiday with wife (or girlfriend) or organise a BBQ with the mates
What will be your choice?
  1. Hamburgers
  2. Steak
  3. Ribs
  4. Chicken

I often wonder what the questions are for when the answers are hidden in them, but as it is easy to make inferences or come across as out of place I invite you to read the above post and draw your own conclusions.

I work in a sector affected by the Covid crisis, activity is picking up slowly but I'm not sure that we will find the world before.

It will become manageable but will not be "over and done with" in our lifetimes.

Now this world teaches us that we have to survive only by wearing masks and having no social contacts. So where are we going? Does science tell us why? Does science tell us when it will surely end and everything will return to normal? Is it worth being? I want to be free, whatever the cost, even death.

What about you?
@3Di
I thought I had made it perfectly clear with my "troll" post.
Sulking and complaining about "lack" of freedom doesn't help. Covid is not the end of the world and certainly did not prevent me from having social contacts. Yes, some freedom was lost but seriously it's a small price to pay for being able to continue living. It certainly is still worth being, and ironically this crisis may have woken many to the fact that we take everything we have for granted.

Yes, not everone's lucky enough to live in a country that offers access to specialised medical treatment, no food shortages, information, in some cases even financial aid to those who are professionally affected by covid.
The black plague and the serious measles pandemic were more devastating than covid and would even have been worse if travel were to easy in that period.

I'm not downplaying covid, and I'm also tired of the restrictions but I've tried to follow the "guiding rules" and just like everyone else I've missed some of my "freedom".
There light at the end of that tunnel. Even if the Indian, South African, Brasilian or whatever new variants get a foothold here, we're better prepared now and I'm fairly confident that the worst is behind us.

@warmweer

It all depends on how each of us is used to living our lives and relating to our neighbours, of course. Your "troll" post leaves a lot to be desired as I see you are used to underestimating the emphasis of certain topics, this does not give you the right to overestimate the arguments and questions by proposing a string of words that have little to do with the subject itself. Just relax, sit back and read when you feel like it, no one is pressuring you and no one is asking you to throw your opinions on the table, at least until you get your facts right.

I do not feel what you feel and cannot comment. I'll be happy when limitations will be lifted. For the time being, I have arranged my life as required and and do not feel extremely limited. Life is different than before but this is not the end. Life will change every day anyway. It could be that my life ends tomorrow. Why should I be worried? I do not think that there is something like a guarantee for happiness in life.

Happiness manifests itself in any way depending on attitudes and habits or lifestyles certainly, I understand your thinking. You are German and I have been living in your country for many years, I am still an Italian. Happiness is what each of us finds it to be, regardless of nationality. But the freedom we had before must be given back to us without ifs or buts. As I said, I want it back, rather death.

Obviously everyone wants that but it's going to depend on the science, both on our side and the virus's side.
