Simple HTML for advertising extension

Post by CPTOM »

The adverting function displays ads done in HTML. Is there a simple way to create HTML for the ads to create professional looking layout/ads? All the web builders seem way too complicated for this, and things like notepad++ are too code-based to get a good layout. I've been mulling just doing everything as a jpg or gif and mostly forgetting about HMTL (other than to put up the jpg). How do most people make ads?

What ‘advertising function’, are you talking about an extension? If so you need to ask the author as all extensions are supported by the extensions’ author. If you mean core code changes you can try posting in the custom coding forum or requesting an extension.

Yes, I was referring to the Advertising Extension. The question isn't really about that extension, per se, but rather I'm looking for a good but simple HTML editor with WISIWIG I can use to create HTML pages for the ads, and for the Pages extension for that matter.

Search for "wysiwyg html editor" and you will be spoiled for choice.

FWIW - “wysiwyg HTML” editors (such as MS FrontPage for example, now discontinued for good reason) are notorious for creating a massive overhead and dirty code in any pages it creates. You would be better off getting to know HTML/CSS and using a proper text editor. There’s oodles of free information, resources and training available on the web with examples, it will pay you in the end to learn how to do it properly. w3schools HTML and CSS are good places to start.
