Songs that depress you

Post by nuckfan15 » Sat Nov 05, 2005 5:36 am

I have been listening to some interesting music lately, browsing the internet and such. It seems alot of great music can depress you to an extent when all you do is listen to that song. On the other hand songs like these make you reflect on your life, your achievements, your downfalls. So Im curious to as what songs do this for you?

  • Coldplay, Clocks
The music and tune in this song is just awesome, I really cant explain it, for me its just one of those songs, as well, some of us can possibly reflect on the words of this song and relate it to our life.
  • Nickleback, If Everyone Cared
A song that describes how the world should be, and how we all deep down, want it to be. The music is also pretty good if you like Nickelback.
  • Aerosmith, Dream On
The music once again is slow calm, and the lyrics and title fit the circumstance.
Anyway, Ill add more later, but please post responsibly, no dumb one liners, otherwise the topic will just get locked.

Neil Young - Keep on Rockin' in the Free World
Everlast - Walk a mile in their shoes; White Trash Beautiful
Simon & Garfunkel - Sound of Silence
Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise
Loreena McKinnet - Night Ride Across the Caucuses; The Highwayman
Kingston Trio - Tom Dooley
Peter, Paul & Mary - Where Have All the Flowers Gone

There's many others - and just as many that can power me up.

I don't listen to songs that depress me. I prefer the "sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll" style of music.

I dont know why, but Atom's "Atom" album seems to depress me.

The odd thing is the songs are really neat, up beat and techno like.
But it still seems to have an effect similar to depression most of the time when I listen to it.

AC/DC? :)

If you like depressing music, it's hard to go wrong with Starsailor, though I only listen to them every so often. I'm more of a maiden fan.

Hell yeah =)
Songs which depress me are mostly soft songs about love etc, cant stand those. What's wrong with love? Nothing, just dont like most of the songs written to it.

Cheers

I get depressed when I hear loud hardcore music. I like most other music, but this loud style almost always gives me a headache.
