I don't have that much experience with the old site, but I like proSilver very much.

I really like the new theme. And I kinda like the site especially for people who aren't used to the old site this is easier to navigate.

Wow. I've been designing all my sites for 1024x768 ever since 2004. :P

Bad! Bad! Bad!
People still use small laptop screens (physically small - not resolution), so always better to cate for 800 x 600 and make page width something like 750px unless you know your target audience ALL use large screens.

You have to force change at some point or another. If Microsoft didn't stop support for Windows 98, there would be corporations still running it to this day.

The overwhelming majority at this point is running 1024x768 or above. Only when sites stop supporting 800x600 will people start to realize they either need to change their resolution or get a new screen.

In regards to the new site vs the old one, my only advice is to take a few weeks to get used to it. I myself had to get used to it awhile back.

I have a 800x600 px laptop, you insensitive clod. And I'm perfectly happy with it, thank you very much. ;)

The new site's pretty nice. The one thing I don't like about it is that the mini-profiles are on the right. Aside from how nice it looks on the left, one of my avatars only makes sense when it is on the left side of the post.

EDIT: and there are still quite a few people using Windows 98.
EDIT again: I'm still using MSN Messenger 6.2.
