I've never really ran a board myself as many of my attempts have turned out as failures. Been around phpBB since mid-2005 or so.

Spookily enough, that's the exact date when I started my board too!

I was a member and then a mod and then an admin on a phpBB site where the owner went AWOL and we found out the domain name was going to expire so me and the mods took the decision to start a new site and see how many would follow us. Luckily 120 did and the site as gone on from there.

I also got involved in setting up a couple of other sites not long after that.
And that's the *exact* same thing that happened to us. Are we related? 8-)

Since June 2000. I originally posted under prince~of~oreon but soon forgot the password, and no longer had the email address for password recovery. meh. It was fun, and there are some terrific memories.

edit: I just realized it will be 5 years ago in 5 weeks since I got this account. How time flies. That's sad.

It's been 3 years 3 months and nine days. First installed it with fantasicto... had a choice between smf and phpbb. Not sure, but phpbb was more appealing .since then I've must of had 3 overhauls done to it by manually re installing phpbb. glad I stuck to it. :geek:

Joined a board in April 2006. I helped set up a board for a friend that summer. I've moderated on the first site for the last year, and I am an admin at the other (but in technical rather than content responsibilities). Mostly got involved here with the version 3 releases. And somehow now I'm on the team... I think I got picked as token girl member. ;)

Eight months. Originally installed using Fantastico, then installed and upgrade to v3 RC7 myself. Each day continues to be a learning experience.

I was actually an IPB administrator, and valiantly hated phpBB2 because of its lack of default features - now phpBB3 is 'out' as such, I tried it out, and now like it more than IPB itself! How about that?

I started sometime between 2004 and 2005, fumbled around for a couple of months learning everything I could about forums, I remember working on BB, VB, and SMF on my localhost on the same time .. :D ..

It was a great experience, it taught me about 40% of what I know about web developing..

My first Real forum was out 13 March 2006, it was 2.0.19, now I'm preparing a brand new 3 forum..

April 2004 - I think it was version 2.0.6
I still have the original site running on version 2 and I am quite pleased with it's progress.
I access and make posts almost daily but do not have as much time to devote to it as I used to. ;)
