Signatures

Post by wired076 »

I am just wondering as I have been a member of this board for a while but when users create signatures me included do others actually read to see what they contain or do we actually just choose to ignore what is in them.

Just interested in finding out what others think of this.

Reason: Removed signature to help discussing about them and not just trying to subtle advertise. :)

I often read through peoples signatures, I like to look at users sites, some of them can be really interesting. Not to keen on sigs which advertising business sites instead of personal web pages :)

I often read signatures as sometimes they can be quite interesting and even amusing.
I particularly like the ones where users are offering to mod folks boards and do custom work on sites but the user is there in the Support forums asking the most simple of questions.

Sometimes if not very busy I may follow a link to check what the sites are as on more than one occasion I have had to ask users to remove links to "Adult" content sites.

Sometimes the url shows that it relates to a subject that I am interested in and I may take a quick look and then bookmark it to check it over later.

Cool.

I often read other people's signatures and do follow links when time permits to see other people's sites and layouts.

What do others think??

If the signature catches my eye for something I've been working with or wanting to find out about, I'll read the sites, if I have time. I've found a couple very good sites with information that really helped me out.

I'd hate to know what people think to my website.

I sometimes look through signatures but often skip them.

I click on member's website icons in their profile fairly frequently, but I hardly ever click signatures... I think this might be because I never really have my own website in my signature, so I don't think to look there (generally just phpBB links or advertising friends' sites). Periodically, if something catches my eye, I do click (like Online Scrabble, for instance ;) )

I have never really paid attention to signatures. I rarely read them and I hardly notice them at all.

I continuously find myself checking people's signatures and clicking link upon link. I think it's a great way to expand your knowledge of the web.
The box said 'You need Windows XP or better' .... so I installed linux.
