Hello from Greece.

I have a problem and i want to tell me what is going on.
There was a Greek forum for the phpbb language but i can not connect at least 7-8 months.
Can someone tell me what has become?

It appears the site is down for whatever reason, the only person that would be able to tell you for sure is the admin/owner of that site. The author of Greek / Ελληνικά may be able to help.

Try logging in with a purposely wrong password. Next screen should give you the admin's email link.

Hi,
Greek Support Site has been down for a while.
This is due to some personal issues (both the administrators' and teams').
The whole team of phpbbgr.com sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience that has been caused.
We will try to restore phpbbgr at some point, but not in a short period of time.
I will try to keep up with the language updates, but i can't, at this time, give support for your forums.

Thanks for your time to come in touch with us.

Hi,

I hope everything turns out well for the admins and mods of the phpbbgr.com.

Also, I'd like to ask what's the current status of the greek 3.1 translation because some forums would like to upgrade as soon as the 3.1 is released.
I remembered that it had started, so is there any progress or is it frozen? Maybe upload the partial tranlation on github?

I would also be glad to actively contribute to the greek translation. Just ask it and tell me how to help!

I read on http://phpbbgr.forumgreek.com/t1p15-topic#23 (greek) that the site is up.
At the moment, from my ISP, phpbbgr.com redirects to phpbb.com.
But if I visit via IP, http://85.214.126.150 then it looks like a 3.1 disabled & translated installation is up.

Let's hope that in a few days, we will know more.

For those of you who are interested in helping with the translation, you should start by creating a github account and making a pull request at: https://github.com/tzampatzis/phpbbgr/t ... anguage/el

Imho, just before doing that, one should have a look at the latest 3.0.12 translation to get a feeling of which words are used for the translation.

In this repository I can find the latest version of the english language files, so we are supposed to make changes on them.

Question: Should we translate the strings from scratch or should we try to keep the same translated strings as before?

Yeap, it is the "el" directory so the changes are made by overwriting these files while translating.

Regarding your question, my proposal was my initial thought. Somehow the translation must be consistent in case of multiple contributors, but I wouldn't mind changing the style of 3.0.12 for the better.

I would say that: let's first translate everything (with a special care for spelling errors if possible) and then fix any incosistency issues.

As for the terms, I really would like to change the "Δημόσια Συζήτηση" or "Δ. Συζήτηση" term to just "Συζήτηση" or even something like "Φόρουμ". The current term (as used in previous translations) is very long compared to the english "Forum" and I really don't like the "Δ." form. Hope that you aggree on that. :-)
