Having spent a great deal of time using free IPB-based forum hosts, I'd like to thank the phpBB team (and the dude who introduced me it!) for this forum software I now find invaluable.

Five years with phpbb2, which was fantastic, and phpbb3 is better yet. How good is that?

I've already given my thanks in this topic, but I feel the need to say something else (That didn't seem important enough to start a whole new topic for).

Props to the phpBB team for their MediaWiki style on the Development Wiki. Seriously, that's freaking amazing, haha. I showed it to a few people and they were initially alarmed and confused due to thinking they were on a control panel.

A humongous thank you

Post by gs2088c » Mon Dec 14, 2009 3:56 pm

I wanted to take a minute to two to say thanks.

Thank you to all phpbb "core team" members, support members, and mod developers.

Until just the past 30 days or so, I never got "hot and heavy" into phpbb, although there is a 3.0.1, with some mods (guessing 3-4) on line (I've helped others, with my limited knowledge of phpbb). But with everything these folks, and others have done (oops, if I missed you), it has made phpbb what I consider a far superior board over others that I have even looked at over the past year; especially SMF. Now the 3.0.6 one i have on line has around 30 incorporated in it, and I look at other mods weekly. Right now, I have 167 mods that I've downloaded and evaluated. This makes it about an 18% usage rate of the ones I've downloaded to test out .vs. actually used. Considering everything, I feel that is an excellent ratio; because even now, I'm looking at others again, now the 3.0.6 board is up and going.

Again, a humongous thank you to all that are involved in the phpbb "project", and the ones that like to make it better.
