I don't usually bother with this sort of thing, but I feel I must in this case - you guys rock! I upgraded my board from phpBB2 to 3 today, and I'm simply blown away. I've already written a custom authentication module to auth against my own database then pass back to phpBB, and it was an absolute dream - everything just worked! I've delved into the code a little too, and it's the best-written PHP I think I've ever seen. Hats off guys, this must be the best PHP forum software out there by a long way now.

To the developers of phpBB/anyone that has helped: /salute.

All of my favorite forums are powered by phpBB, which has helped keep open source software popular.

Just had to jump on here and say Good Work and thank you to anyone that wants the compliment.

In a matter of 1.5 days, I deployed phpBB V3, modified it and it's running smoothly. The help files here are super and I found it very helpful when deploying this solution.

Great work.

PhpBB is amazing on so many levels.
And it proves we don't need money in society as an incentive. :)

I agree with everyone, from 2.0.3 where I started to 3.0.2... what a wild ride.

Now I just wish I had more time to create mods, I have many ideas and very little time to work on it especailly now that the economy around the world is in the dumps, means more time working verses playing / programming...

Thanks for advancing phpBB!
Thanks to all the MOD Writers!!
Thanks to all those that put up with my questions!!!
phpBB3 Rocks!

I always have to ask the question before I figure out the answer.
Thanks for all the support since 2.0.6!

I've ordered Bertie 3.0
We'll send him from user to user. Each one will make a video or photo of what will happen to Bertie.

Maybe i'll show you some of that stuff.

Thank you! I'm even more of an open source philosophile!

Hi all,

I just had to post and say thanks to all those involved in this superb project!

In less than a day, I have got a board up and running with 2 forums, 4 threads, 6 members and 8 posts... that's a curiously pleasing pattern, in my rose-tinted specs, anyhoo :)

Sure, I'm bound to find a few bugs and probably, as time passes, I'll realise that I have over-looked some key issues...

But hey! It works! Even with my own header/menu and footer wrapped around the BB, it validates! So, if/when the bugs and over-sights appear, at least I'll be able to isolate one thing at a time 8-)

THANK YOU!

Never so much for so little

added to thank you topic.Outstanding.

I've been programming for the better part of 25 years and I rank this the best application I have
ever had the pleasure of dealing with.

Starting with the error free simple installation to the vast array of supporting features.

Thank you to all the folks at phpBB for an exceptional job well done.
