after using both i'd have to agree that yes in fact phpBB is easier, more user friendly, and has more settings and options than vB. thanks, phpBB. ;)

Yeh normally for something even half the quality of this, I would of thought to spend hundreds of pounds (GBP) to use.

Great project, and great product

phpBB has got to be my favourite in all bulletin boards out of a lot I've tried. I liked phpBB2 for its simplicity and huge base of MODs but after spending a few hours trying to figure out how to use the admin panel features, got to say phpBB3 is pretty impressive. phpBB3 is just as easy to style as phpBB2 although while modifying files I had to reset cache in admin panel for every modification I make...

It'd be good of it had a latest topic in forum display built right in the box but not much of a big deal...I'll just install the MOD.

phpBB is the alternative to all other free bulletin boards and is a great alternative to costly vBulletin/IPB. Thanks :).

A big thank you

I just felt like wanting to thank all those who actively helped others with there forum issues. On a few occasions i have encountered a few issues and with very little PHP knowledge I have often thought 'oh c**p'. However a quick post with my problem on here and within an hour a working solution is provided which saves much embarrassment with my forum users.
The forum coding is spot on and those responsible are a credit. Just as thankful am i for those who offer constant support to people like me who have no PHP knowledge.

Apologies if this post is in the wrong forum!! :D

Anyone else wanting to show there thanks?

Just updated one of my forums from 3.0.0 to 3.0.4 and wanted to state yet again how impressed I am with this product. As an IT professional myself in a $3B+ tech company I have no hesitation in saying you guys have done and continue to do a fantastic job and are a clear example that freeware products can be every bit as professional as any commercial product out there. Just outstanding. If there was a 'clapping' smiley it would be here!!

I only just made it to this topic. :P

I would like to thank all of the programmers and team members for developing and helping me with phpBB. phpBB is one of the greatest open-source projects I have known and I want to thank everyone that helped develop it. :)

Freeware authors don't generally like people modifying the source code. I've got a bunch of freeware/shareware which says: "You may freely distribute this software, but MAY NOT modify it"

THANK YOU SO MUCH TEAM!!! This truly is a great piece of software, and it's so adaptable! It's amazing that you've managed to keep it free for anyone who wants to use it :)

I personally love being able to change almost anything I want to to fit my needs. Plus, using your software has taught me a great deal about how the internet works, and how it doesn't.

Once again, thanks for this great program!
