I have three custom profile fields, of which two required, but after the upgrade they are not visible anymore at the registration screen. --> moved

There should be like Joomla world. You just update the core package with a simple click. The update takes 20 seconds and not affect any of the other extra components, plugins and mods you have. This version 2.0 is commercial but the 1.4 is free working well at extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,6259/Itemid,35

Just updated 6 test boards (having various mods) with the updater and everything worked perfectly. Thanks for making it easy.

For people who don't know their way around diffs, it would be helpful if someone posted a simple how to guide on how to interpret the conflict report that the updater gives you and what to do about the warnings, particularly since looking at the side by side comparison is confusing to the average user. I apologize if this was posted somewhere and I just didn't see it.

It only removes the button if you are unauthorised to send PMs (don't have the correct permission), you must be logged into send PMs.

You have DST enabled, you should disable it, because it's no summer in UTC +1 anymore.

phpıB2 frequently had releases of such short duration. This was the first (and hopefully only) for phpBB3 -- it served only to fix a few bugs that somehow slipped into 3.0.3. Some changes have been made to QA that should (hopefully) serve to move phpBB3 back to its ideal release schedule -- about every 5-6 months.

updated from 3.0.3 to 3.0.4

easiest upgrade so far mercifully

the auto updater merged a lot more files for me this time around which I was grateful for

hard to believe that phpBB3 has now been up and running for ONE YEAR

With the phpbb2 releases I could do it all by hand with the documentation given, and even though they came out quite often - I was able to do each and every one within just a few hours by hand, even on extremely modded forums.

Documentation on the steps was always there and waiting, making it much easier. I had to, several times, update boards for client that were as far back as 2.0.3 to 2.0.20 by hand. It took a lot of time, but it could be done in a day.

With regard to the current updates and the auto-updater, I can never feel as sure that I have done it right - and trying to do it all through code comparisons is like telling someone to go walk off a cliff.
