So we have an answer about the main matter, the auth_option field is indeed meant to be unique !

Just felled on another circumstances where duplicated entries could be added, after a member in my site did face the issue. He just restored a db backup without clearing the tables, everything was pretty much added again instead of being restored.
So in that case it was obvious, but if someone would make the same error when only restoring the auth tables, then, the mess could be harder to find out.

But ho well, I guess this is just an edge case we should keep in our mind now, for the few cases where it could be good to know.

The issue is now be fixed in svn : http://www.phpbb.com/bugs/phpbb3/ticket ... t_id=41835
And with the UNIQUE Key and a brilliant fix for duplicated auth_options.
Was a tricky edgy one, but I feel better now, good work.
