[Discuss] Support Request Template Generator

No, it's creating a filled out support request template. Also known as a support request. If you don't consider it a support request until it's actually posted on the forum, I don't know what it is generating, but it's more than just the template

But suit yourself. Just putting it out there for consideration.

Maybe I am missing something obvious, maybe I am misunderstanding the use of the word "template" (I am not a native speaker, no matter how hard I try to hide it

From my perspective, when phpBB takes an email template and combines it with a username, a link to a specific forum, a link to a specific post and a link to unsubscribe from the specific topic, it generates an email, not an email template. The same logic, as far as I can see, would apply to this tool, which combines the support request template with specific information, provided by a user, to produce a support request. Hence, it is a support request generator.

I'll try and make this my last post, because this is really a minor point, but I keep feeling the urge to clarify my point

You're partially right.

First, some obvious definitions. The "Support Request Template" is a template for requesting support. You could also call it a "Support Request Form" or even a "List of carefully tweaked questions which can be used to file a support request". The template is just the block of questions.

The "Support Request Template Generator" doesn't generate a new Support Request Template; it generates a filled out Support Request Template.

Yeah, this seems to be one of those crazy things about English that is hard to translate.

So basically, SRTG, Support Request Template Generator, is a misnomer. It's not generating the template; it's filling one out. (thank you for summarizing what we've already said)

One thing that I find annoying is the default color of the questions, 2E00BF. I don't think it provides enough contrast with the post backgrounds. IMO the color should be complementary (color wheel wise) to the post backgrounds. You can call it whatever you want but the KISS principle is always better.

Just something on the opposite side of the wheel, like this:

There's just something about the color combination of the current one that makes me want to look away.

Or you could just throw a white background behind the whole thing and not worry about clashing with the forumbg. Not that it matters one way or the other, I'll just keep avoiding looking at it.

I've gone ahead and implemented narqelion's colour suggestion as well as a few other changes, particularly the "level of experience" field. Sample output:
