What will that do for me?

The issue I'm having is that I ran the Reparse BBcode tool and it killed all my image links. Will the URL list tool help me fix this in any way?

The problem I am noticing, is that when I purge cache using toolkit. It does not appear to purge cache of the theme folder. I have to go into the ACP and purge theme cache, am I mis-understanding purge cache of STK. Is it not suppose to purge all cache?

I believe that the STK does the same thing that the "clear cache" button in the ACP does. Because the styles editor in the ACP stores changes in the database (not the files themselves), clearing that cache would remove those changes, which would be undesirable.

As such, the theme cache is not cleared unless you specifically do so.

Quick question about the BBCode Reparsing that this toolkit can do, how exactly is this done? Or I suppose what I would really like to know, is how many posts are processed at once i.e. the batch size?

When you run it, you get a notice stating:
Information

Step n completed. Moving on to step n+1 in a moment...
Would like to know what size each step is, mainly to get an idea how long the process will take.

Thank you.

The great thing about "open source" software is, you can have a look inside the source code yourself. :)
./stk/tools/admin/reparse_bbcode.php
contains this near the start:

Code: Select all

...
		$step = request_var('step', 0);
		$limit = 500;
		$start = $step * $limit;
So it appears to be doing 500 posts per step.

Thank you.

Would not have really known where to look, not a real code person, though suppose I could have found it eventually.

Just worked it out ball park anyway, since just before it finished the counter was up to ~1,100 and we have >600,000 posts in the DB. It took 4 hours to process those in the end.

I was a bit worried there for a moment that it was some smaller number of posts per step and it would take "forever" to process ;)

BTW, thanks to those that have written this kit, very handy thing it is :ugeek:

This is soooo newbie! I've copied the STK folder into my forum. If I then go to \\localhost\Forum\stk\ I get asked to logon. Entering my normal board admin userid and password just takes me back to the portal page!

I know I'm doing something stupid but what????

Regards
Doug

Can you log in to your board? If yes, then do that first.
Otherwise the STK gives you an option to create a password file for logging in.

Simply point your browser again to the STK ;). There was a change in 3.0.7 that broke the login redirect.

This was great for me too. I have a board that has 1.8mil posts, and I was worried the whole time LOL.
Just converting from SMF, after it was once phpBB, and vBB, there were always weird and dead IMG tags allover the place in the archives. However, the STK was spot on. 8 hours of downtime, and everything is finally clean.

I love this tool.

Hi, Erik. Is there a "quick-fix" for this? :oops:

If I remember correctly, after upgrading to 3.0.7 I had to add {S_LOGIN_REDIRECT} to some of my templates... Is there any similar edit that can be done to the STK templates? :D

Thanks! ;)
