Rather than subscribing to forums/topics and receiving notifications via email/Jabber, users can now use a feed reader to check for updates.

can somebody please do a screenshot or link to a forum that uses it, I can't even visualise why this is worth bothering with 8-)

HI. Just a note to say thank you for the latest update, it's good to know security is at the heart of the phpBB Team.

I've done all of these things (code change, changed constant, ran database update) but I'm still getting the red warning in the ACP. The System tab still shows that I'm running 3.0.7. Should I be doing some kind of refresh?

When I check the Maintenance tab in the ACP, it says I "Updated Database from version 3.0.7 to version 3.0.7". How do I get the updater to recognize that the version number is now 3.0.7-PL1?

Thanks.

in what way?

ok I give up, it's obviously some big secret that I'm not supposed to find out

I'll upgrade it anyway, as somebody else said we can't have red messages every time in the ACP

(EDIT: phpBB only supports ATOM feeds, not RSS, as I had said.) It allows you to display links to posts/topics and content from posts/topics onto another website without having to access the database or anything. I assume that this is what phpBB does to list latest blog posts on the main index page. It is actually a pretty handy thing to have for your users, even if you don't use it, as they might want to. ;)

EDIT: You can read a feed using a Feed Reader (or build your own) such as Google Reader, or FireFox has one built in, I think. ;)

ANd so I see. xD I stand corrected. I hadn't really checked, so I guess my memory failed me.
Thanks for pointing that out. :)

I updated to 3.07 and all went fine. The main ACP page and the system tab tells it 3.07. After that I updated to 3.07-PL1 and again all went fine except that the main ACP page is telling it's 3.07-PL1 and the system tab 3.07.

I was thinking maybe it's a cache problem so I emptyed the cache but the problem stays. What can it be?

I got an error when running the install:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method diff3::get_num_conflicts() in ......\install\install_update.php on line 1519
Also I don't even have a file called feed.php, and I just updated to 3.0.7 yesterday.
