Discuss phpBB 3.0.7-PL1 released

I used the automatic update package 3.0.7 > 3.0.7PLI (FTP method) and it worked superb, very quick and now I know about feeds too!

It worked well for me, too, but I run a fairly stock board.

Out of curiosity, why do we have to download the files and upload them again? Why can't the system just copy the new/merged files to the correct spots and offer us to download the changed files if we want a backup? That would save the whole upload process.

Because you'd need to give the web server write access to all your scripts, which is just silly.

I figured it might be a permission issue, but wasn't sure. I'm not a UNIX/Linux expert, so I'm not sure where the Web server falls in the user/group/everyone area.

Well it depends on the specific server configuration but generally its a bad idea to allow the user running the files write access to those files in a shared environment.

It provides an RSS 2.0 feed from an Atom feed, which is what you were after.
