A lot of the fixes and features currently due for 3.0.8-RC1 can be found in the tracker.

10 days are passed when i last time saw the progress of new version.
and i think it's still the same as it was 10 days before.

Issues: 59 created and 42 resolved
Total Progress of release candidate v3.0.8: 63 of 110 issues have been resolved

i think work on the new version is stopped.

Is there anything in particular that you're waiting for in 3.0.8? ;)

i liked a style very much (Author: christian 2.0) which have some bugs and the author of style is saying that he 'll Fix them in his next version. but he also said that he 'll not release next version until the new version of PHPBB is also released.

The only "significant" bug in my style is the usernames not displaying correctly in Chrome. If you look at the Style's FAQ page in the Customisation Database you'll find a fix for this.

Like Kenny said, be patient - and be grateful you don't have to pay for either the style or the software.

I never really liked the "don't complain because you got it for free" line; it demonstrates a kind of we-don't-care attitude, which is very far from the truth.

Instead, I prefer "if you think it's slow, provide some patches to make it go faster".

ChekoSlovakia, we don't just release versions randomly. If there isn't some critical bug that you're being plagued with, you have absolutely no reason to long for a maintenance release. Maintenance releases fix bugs, and the less bugs we have the better. 3.0.7-pl1 is incredibly stable and you should happily use it knowing that you won't need to install updates every 2 weeks.

No - that is not quite right. This is my 'laymans' version of how it works.

3.0.x are 'maintenance' releases for the current version.

3.1.x is the next version - using mostly the current codebase.

4.0.x is the next almost complete re-write version.

You can expect quite a few maintenance releases to happen, they are to fix bugs plus minor enhancements.

The next fuller versions, both 3.1 or 4.0, will not happen any time soon, so unless you are a coder with mods or styles you should probably ignor them for the time being (eg I do).

Like always - new versions will be announced when they are ready - and not a day before.

For reference, phpBB 3.1.x is realistically planned to be released by the end of the year.

You can see much of the discussion that is taking place around 3.1 in the 3.1.x Development Forums over at Area51. :)
