@TptMike: I like it. I think the actual logo could do with some work though, it doesn't really fit.

How about making the code font larger? That would make it more clear as to what it is.

Sure :)

In comparison the smaller font looks much better - it looks like the system font begins getting blurry at a certain point (That said it's a mighty high resolution). So here we have three versions of the concept you liked:

Logo + Creating Communities + TM made up of code:
Image
Larger: http://i47.tinypic.com/5bpb86.jpg

Logo made of code, no creating communities, TM filled in with colour:
Image
(No need for a larger version, with the exception of TM it's the same as above)

Logo made of code, creating communities and TM filled in with colour:

Larger: http://i50.tinypic.com/29n8gzo.jpg

Obviously if you choose this and / or the other design we can get in touch off-board and fine-tune colours, fonts, resolutions, sizes etc... :)

My personal opinion is that the black-shirt version looks better. Blue code on white shirt looks a little tacky to me, especially with a larger font.

I am under the impression that for files that contain only PHP code, it is not required by PHP, and omitting it prevents the accidental injection of trailing white space into the response. :?:

If I am wrong, please correct me. ;)

Recently we've had this same discussion for the STK.

There's been some discussion about it but doesn't seem to have had a definitive yes or no for 3.1. For 4.0 however it has gotten approved.

Yes, I think it will "compile" without any problems. But I haven't seen any php files in phpBB3 without the ?> - so for consistency... :P

Just another idea for your function, that if statement kinda takes away from the fact it's phpBB

Code: Select all

// Get our community
function get_community()
{
    return 'phpBB';
}

I think it looks ok but it's very New York centered so it'd only be good for Libertyvasion. Even though you do replace the Libertyvasion part with www.phpbb.com in the second example, I think only the first one looks good/makes sense. :)
