That's what I am doing to be honest. 8-)

Back from Guru meditation to real live:
There is a new subforum: phpBB Custom Coding, but the content is not listed under "unread posts" or "active topics" ;)

And it's not going to be as it is on purpose ;)

Regarding the 503s: we didn't really have much to say about it as we haven't been able to effectively identify the issue, but we are now working on resolving this through our friends at OSL as they have identified a possible source of the issue. Right now I think the problem has been band-aided so shouldn't see them come up, at least for a bit. More information to come. The postponed scheduled maintenance we were supposed to have earlier this month likely has something to do with this so hopefully once that actually gets done in the next month or so things will be a little more permanent/stable.

David. Should we get further 503's etc do you want them reporting, and if so in how much detail?

If this was an actual business that relied on it's website to produce revenue, someone would be out of a job by now.

Almost one month since your initial post about it David...one month. It's like trying to get a PR into core code.

I don't think the issue is specific to any individual function or activity. We have found that the problem is a little more widespread than that and needs to be dealt with at its source, which causes everything else to falter or slow down.

I personally don't get quick reply at all, why do you think it would be of benefit?

My 2 cents: Whether an extension is in the CDB says nothing about its quality. It is more important to read the support topics for it. Better to avoid authors who do not answer support questions themselves, who do not update their stuff, and who do not fix bugs for years.
