phpBB Weekly Episode #164

Post by Phil » Sun Oct 31, 2010 4:08 am

Hello,

After a bit more time than we had hoped, Sam and I are proud to announce the release of phpBB Weekly Episode #164, the follow-up to our first attempt at the new incarnation of phpBB Weekly.

This episode provides a brief summary of new features in phpBB 3.0.8, some discussion regarding phpBB's RFC process (as well as some features we'd like to see in the future), and an informative talk about getting involved with phpBB development (and development of phpBB sub-projects) on Github.

Resources Mentioned
Pro Git Book (Free, Online)
Getting Git

This week also marks the return of the MOD and Style of the week.

Style of the Week - Quasar
MOD of the Week - Precise Similar Topics II

As always, we appreciate any feedback you may have -- go easy on us, we're still new at this  Please post any questions/comments/discussion ideas you have in this topic. Additionally, please contact Sam or myself if you'd like to be a guest on the podcast at any point in the future.

Unfortunately, the phpBB Weekly website is not yet ready for additional episodes--as such, this episode is being released on phpBB.com only and will not be included in iTunes' podcast feed. This should (hopefully) be the last episode with this issue; future episodes should be published on phpbbweekly.com

Enjoy the episode!
-Phil and Sam

Nice work!

Would like to hear some of the heavily discussed topics in the phpBB Forum talked about - with your opinion on the matter.

I like that you added the Styles of the week ;)

I've uploaded it to a file host..not sure if Sam and Phil mind it. just remove the link if it's not allowed.

Great job Sam, Phil. Is it just me, or was there no music at the beginning? :?
