security issue in the previous version affecting boards which have the flash BBCode enabled - it is disabled by default.
How do I know if I have this enebled? I don't see a setting for it in the ACP...

Also, I tried running the check_flash_bbcodes.php script from my server and it takes me to a dowload prompt instead of executing in the browser? Am I missing something? I commented out the safty line.

Thanks, Ddeo

Finally had time to install this last evening, and I went looking for strange bugs as usual. Found one, but it's strange. :geek:

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to submit a bug report. :?

Better to report it than potentially let it get lost.

Yeah, 'create issue' it's funny, sounds like you want more..

Anyway, if this is the issue http://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-9929 well, I have had not yet the time and/or the willing to upgrade my craps, but, better (in case is positive) to PL'it soon IMHO.

LOL, thought there would be a RC2 because most fixes weren't verified.

I used the phpBB-3.0.7-PL1_to_3.0.8 updater and got notified of 30+ conflicts even though I was running an almost-stock phpBB 3.07 PL-1 board (only my overall_header.html and overall_footer.html files were modified). It wasn't really a problem -- I just selected the Use new file option for most files and the Merge option for the header file. That also happened on my main board (again with no MODs other than header and footer). Is that supposed to happen?

Note: This isn't a support question -- I got the board working easily. I just want to know if unmodified old files are supposed to get flagged as modifications by the updater.

I have seen this happen as well and it is due to whitespace. If your (S)FTP client transfers files in ASCII rather than binary (as many of them do), it may change line endings (and potentially things like tabs, etc. depending on the client). This will result in the diffing engine seeing modifications. This happens quite often because many FTP clients are set to ASCII (at least for text files) by default.

Of course, it's only a problem if merging the files results in incorrect code in the file. I have never seen it result in incorrect code, but if you do, that would be a big bug. Due to the number of updates performed with the automatic packages, we probably would have seen this by now though.

That makes sense. I use UltraEdit's FTP browser as my FTP client. It defaults to binary, but I try to remember to change it to ASCII when I transfer text files. (I don't know if it supports automatic ASCII/binary detection or extensions.) Maybe I uploaded in binary once and ASCII another time.

Thanks,

Just you? Here's what I see:
Automation
Check for updates

General tasks
Spiders/Robots
Mass e-mail
Language packs
PHP information
Manage report/denial reasons

Module management
Administration Control Panel
User Control Panel
Moderator Control Panel
Maybe you have a MOD or language pack issue?
