So this is an install of a "test" board that is not link the your actual site mysql db but rather a stand alone that mods can be tested on before installing in a live site?

I knew about this before, but I finally got round to installing it and I found a bug :) Now to work out how to send pull requests on github... XD Thanks though, it's great :)

Pretty much, it's a tool that can quickly make a test board with automod and lots of Lorem ipsum posts already.

Yes. QI is intended to be run locally, not on a live server. The goal is to provide MOD authors and validators with a tool to make MOD testing easier and faster.

I'm sure there is some tutorial on github about pull requests.

After I've been using this tool for some time, I got a little annoyed when I was going to remove a board, under the manage boards tab.

I constantly missed the board I wanted to remove, thus removing another one.

I added a hover effect to eliminate this problem

Although, that was the only thing I missed.

Nice and handy tool Jari!

I usually delete all test forums when it gets to crowded in the list so I have never had that problem. But hover effect is added in git now, thanks.

Would it be possible in some future version to load settings from, for example, the first board I create...

The reasoning s as follows...
  • I could determine all board setting, forum permissions etc., to be used on subsequent installs...
  • In many of my test installs I would have specific posts designed to test such things as image attachments, code, quotes and a variety of bbcodes... I could add these to the first install and reuse them in all test installs...
  • I note some/most forums are not visible to global moderators and administrators automatically... I have to set these forums each and every time...
  • By default I would also like to active thumbnails and some other settings automatically...
  • Create random sized posts based on a text file (containing word with the language of the install)...
The option to clone an existing test DB using new settings would be perfect...

Is there a reason that you couldn't set things up like you want, back up that database and restore it in a new installation? You'd have to change a few things (script path, cookies, maybe the board name and E-mail settings), but everything else would basically be pre-configured.

I did something similar when I wanted to set up a test board for a client (for MOD testing and such).
