You should have a key to the fonts. I presume that the orange/red font indicates the #1 item in each list, except that Viewtopic Birthday is crossed out at #1 in the overall phpBB MOD list without any explanation.

There’s a note on the bottom giving the explanation:
Note: It is unlikely that Viewtopic Birthday has over one million legitimate downloads.

Hello,

Well installing MODs is not a must!

You install the features you need!

Thanks

there are many skilled coders out there who come to phpBB and give us their time and results

they (mainly) share with us code that first they needed themselves and then - on top of that - provide support to those who have problems after installing that code

how to credit those modders? they do deserve credit and our thanks!

this is an impassioned way of attempting to do that, to bring the names of the coders to the surface and say YES these are the people who deserve cudos

numbers can't be argued with - there are no human judges in this, therefore it stands

the Blog itself deserve thanks as well, a good piece of detective /research work

I find it fascinating that phpBB mChat by R McGirr83 is at no2 (quite rightly, it's a superb mod which I downloaded myself) but if you go a couple of pages on in "Communications" you come to this
mChat
Author AllCity
Version 1.2.6
phpBB Version(s) 3.0.5
Last updated Mon Jun 01, 2009 9:43 am
so there is another earlier version of mChat, what happened? did R McGirr83 build on that? get inspired by it? what?

Did you actually look at his profile? He hasn't been here since March.

From what I can remember, the original was banned at one stage so other MOD authors took over and produced the new version. mChat was not a bad MOD, so it made sense to fork it rather than let it become abandoned.
