Just had a quick browse of the updates/fixes etc, still amazes me how much work goes into PHPBB. Well done to everyone involved and thanks for offering such a great setup.

I'm on 308 with a bucket full of mods what package do i want to upgrade to 309 i want to drop all mods and clean out the database of mods.

So the outcome will be a fresh install but with members and posts and attachments still in place.

Code: Select all

Replace all the old files with the new ones except for config.php (make sure your attachments aren't overwritten), and run install/database_upgrade.php.

I got a very custom style.
I did the update and all was succesful and is working well, however i dont use prosilver or subsilver. I noticed in the update package, those themes were updated.

Is there special instructions i should follow for updating my custom theme?
Can anyone link me to those?

All seems fine on my board, but i just want to make sure Im not missing any steps.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It won't remove the old, redundant tables. Compare your database with a clean install of 3.0.9, and manually delete the redundant tables.

Use this to remove all unwanted extra tables and fix pretty much everything else.

I know this has always been like this, but what is the point of a topic to "discuss" the update if no quesitons about problems are allowed? Is it just a place for all the "great job" , "about time", "I hate updating" type of comments?
That is not discussing the update anymore than generic support questions is discussing the update/

I am not sure what type of post would really qualify as a "dicussion" of the update.

These "discussion" topics are meant primarily for remarks about the release, "thanks", etc. There's a very simple reason that we try to discourage support questions and things like that from these topics: they tend to clutter the topic and make it difficult to read. If multiple support-related questions are on-going at once, it becomes nearly impossible to follow either of them, thus, we encourage users to post their questions in the Support forum, where it can receive the proper attention and will be easy to read (and follow) for the topic starter, supporters, and other users.

This also has the added benefit of making the topic more accessible and noticeable for everyone else, which will hopefully lead to a few other user's problems being solved as well.

Nice update guys, I have updated without problems :D

Just one doubt (i have been doubting if asking in this thread or open another one, sorry if I should have done the second one): I didnt saw the spanish language pack...

I mean, by default the board language is english, so I want to download the spanish pack, but I didnt found it...

The last spanish pack I saw is for 3.0.8

Would have I problems if I upload 3.0.8 spanish package using 3.0.9 in my board?
