Canonical URL MOD

Post by haggisv »

This validated mod seems to have had no recent activity.

Is the Canonical URL issue still relevant, or are there other (better) mods that take care of the duplicate content issues?

It's still relevant. it tells google, yahoo, msn etc which is the true URL to follow and index, if say for example, you have two URL's that point to the same topic / page for whatever reasons.

what kind of duplicate issues are you having?

Thanks Ozo!

Not having any issues, but it's well known that Google does not like duplicate pages, so I'd like to resolve this, as you never know how it can improve rankings.

This mod seems to be the only one around that resolves this, but the MOD is old and I'm not sure if it will still work for the latest phpbb version, so I thought perhaps another MOD has replaced this?

From reading the description of the SEO mods, I can't see them mention anywhere that they put in the Canonical URLs.
