He also mentioned features and development, which is why myself and others pointed out phpBB 3.1 would be out sooner (and would obviously have more features). So it has a lot to do with the OP's posts.

When asked about the version phpbb4 the goal is to find out when I can be used to read many of their potential for great

But in the end I do not care any copy will be issued
Important to have new possibilities we wish
Including, for example but not limited to
Ease of installation mod , good editor and other features missing
We hear about the study and we're going to pass this, but nothing new so far
Despite the sincere greetings and appreciation to the development team, but I feel that the development process slower than the tortoise

It was 5 1/2 years to get to phpBB3 from phpBB2.

It's been 4 1/2 years since phpBB3 released. phpBB4 is pretty much not started (some planning and there has been talk of work on external librarys that will be needed for phpBB4, but no actual code for it).

I wouldn't think about phpBB4, at the rate it's going, nobody will be using a BBS anymore before it's complete. We'll just have to see if 3.1 can be completed faster than phpBB3 was.

A) MOD's are very easy to install. Especially with EasyMOD. It's following basic instructions. Not too hard at all. If you can't figure it out, then you probably shouldn't be running your own website. Getting a website off the ground is alot more complicated then installing MOD's. I learned how to do it at a very young age.

B) If you really need faster development. There are plenty of other options. Otherwise in it's current state phpBB offers a really good piece of software. (For free...) You don't really have any right to complain about it. Even if its missing something you absolutely MUST have...(Which I find to be highly unlikely, plenty of other successful boards use phpBB) then you can learn to install a MOD, which are also free.

If you are waiting for version 4 - you'll be waiting a few years (read - YEARS). phpBB 3.1 is in the alpha testing phase. Please be patient.

I know you made a great effort in the development of phpbb3.1

In all cases, I'm going to be patient because I am compelled

but

But the development team knows that we waited so long to get the new features and the development of a real I do not know we have to wait another year?

I also think that all the ideas that the development team thinks it's new and value-in version phpbb3.1 Has become meaningless

I fought many of my friends who have left phpbb But it seems they were right

I also I will convert to My Community Script last
Farewell all

What are you talking about? Extensions (true plug-ins) are meaningless?

Also, some of phpBB 4.0 is already in phpBB 3.1 (like using some of Symfony).

Why don't you try asking a specific question like "Will feature X be in phpBB 3.1?" Then people might be able to give you real answers.

phpBB 3 was released 6 years ago today.
