Almost seems certain. There's no doubt social networks are playing their part in the popularity-decrease of forums. However as long as there's information to be shared between a large crowd of people sharing a common interest, there will always be a need for forums. :)

Well yes, I have great faith to phpBB and all its developer. phpBB will be able to co-exist with the modern way of communication.

That seems to imply that bulletin boards are not a "modern way of communication".

I disagree. Just because there are newer devices and methods of communication does not mean that things like bulletin boards, blogs etc. are not valid and modern means of communicating.

It does mean that they have to adapt so that people using these newer devices can still view them on their device.

Some people think that the desktop computer will go away because of the popularity of the smaller hand held devices. Well it might, but I don't think it will be any time soon.

Oh, honestly, I really think bulletin boards are old way of communicating, (like radio receivers or beepers  )
But yeah, I think it is of great importance that phpBB must learn to adapt with the *popular*.
Or else, just like Christian told it, phpBB will only be used when
