Thanks for the update.

I did run into an issue, but it's an issue that I've experienced before.

What I do is zip the stk folder on my computer. Transfer the zip file to the root of phpBB3. I then unzip the file using Cpanel. But when I try to view the stk directory, I get an error page. What I need to do is change the files inside stk to CHMOD 644, for some odd reason they are all set to CHMOD 666. The folders seem to be correct, they are all CHMOD 755.

Just thought I'd let you know. I know we've discussed this before. So you may want to add it in your FAQs this workaround if people can't login to the STK directory.

We recommend never unzipping on your server. Always unzip on your computer and upload resulting folders and files.

why would you go to all that trouble?

the standard way is as brf said, you unzip on your computer just like any other zip file and then upload the included stk folder to the server as usual.

even though hosting companies ( some ) offer this unzipping thing on the server, they are notorious for not working properly.

like in this case. if you do it correctly then you would not have any file permissions problems.

It's a force of habit of mine to do this, because it helps when an archive has lots of tiny files inside, which can take minutes or hours to transfer (one of them is the umil with lots of language files), and the zip extraction straight on the server is much faster (less than 5 seconds).

But this issue seems to be only with stk. Other archives I extract on the server don't have this problem, like phpbb, wordpress, umil, and etc.

Luckily with FlashFXP, I can CHMOD both files and folders within a few seconds in a directory and all the files and folders within that directory.

But I will keep your advice in mind.. thanks. :)

have never used flashxp but if you have to upload/transfer one file at a time then I would be looking for a better ftp program. with most, you simply drag and drop complete folder or groups of folders all at one time.

Yes, I drag and drop the folder, but then it takes time to transfer each and every file inside that folder and etc.

Why did the Support Team go with PL1 instead of 1.0.8? Not enough bug fixes? :P

Didn't that happen with phpBB where we went from 3.0.7 to 3.0.7 PL1?
Please note that I will not be porting any of my mods to phpBB 3.1. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Basically. There were just a few small important changes I wanted to push out, but nothing major.

Except that was because of a security problem and not just bug fixes.

I thought that PL releases were only for security fixes (and maybe critical bugs). I would never call an x.y.z release "major". ;)

As the term suggests, PL is used for any Patch Level updates. There are no restrictions on what type of updates can be in the patch. The fixes were minor, but important so I went with a patch instead of a minor version increase which typically includes more bug fixes and/or new features.
