This part is a little disheartening. I understand the reasoning (mostly, making the unread post icon bigger would break layout), but what if a user wants to go to the first post? You're effectively taking that decision away from them. Maybe make this a UCP option?Recent user interface improvements also included changing the topic title link to point directly to the oldest unread post of a topic instead of the first post. Previously you had to be aware of the purpose of the small yellow icon next to topic titles to get there.
How did they know, that the small icon takes them to the first unread... it has a hover text and users will try it.Danielx64 wrote:Ok how will end users know that?
This was not changed, so it is still there.Danielx64 wrote:...then went looking for the first unread post button?
That looks hideous.nickvergessen wrote:
Not necessarily, it depends on the shape of the icon. The one I've used on my site doesn't break the layout but is still big enough for touch screens. I don't like the new look either so I think I will keep my icon.t_backoff wrote:I understand the reasoning (mostly, making the unread post icon bigger would break layout)
If the phpBB team have something to blog about, I'm sure that a post would be up (just saying)kickball365 wrote:Ahhh... new year... new blog post to update us?
No. You're new here, so you probably didn't realize that the phpBB team doesn't set (or at least publish) goal dates. There are various reasons for this (like people are volunteers and can't necessarily commit time to meet goals), so please don't complain. There are topics that discuss this if you search.Alignsoft wrote:Is there a release target date for 3.1, or a sense of when it might be ready for general use?
