Never argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Nope. I for one dislike most things that are related to SEO because it's mainly BS.
Static pages are a good addition. You only have to search the indexed pages of phpbb.com on google to see that. Click, you will have to flick through a good few of the results pages there to find any forum content...Maybe not SEO per say, but just good 'O'. ;)

Anyway, I'm really surprised at the lack of votes for 'Posting Templates' :|

It seriously is this?
You can create static pages with a simple and silly code. Templates for the post?

To my taste these two features are tied Paypal and autogroups .. I think it's more appropriate autogroups my part because not everyone has the willingness to pay by paypal so simply. (here I speak for south america)

that's ridiculous, there is far more involved than that, sorry I put static pages at no 1

and another thing :D

I currently use posting templates on my (3.0.12) site, a superb way to 'Help' or 'Control' the information that members post into chosen forums...

For example, in one of my forums, a member clicks 'New Topic' and gets this which when submitted creates a new topic which is also formatted nicely:
EDIT: I guess an extension will probably have more 'Core' features too such as Image uploading (Attachments), smilies etc etc.

If it's similar to the static pages modification it's all I need ;)
Likewise for me! And from the looks of it, a whole lot of other people in the community.

Currently (as of 3.1), for a simple static page, one has to make it as a extension - which is overkill. Having Pages would really simplify the process.

My order would be:
  • Pages
  • Posting Templates
  • Auto Groups
  • Paypal/Donation

Even better, with "Pages" we'll be able to make as many static pages as we want when we'll only need html (via bbcodes), css and javascript to accomplish the result... and we'll have extensions for more complicated pages that require custom php code.

static pages + extension pages --> double awesomeness

Thanks for voting everyone!

Clearly we have two extensions that a lot of people are interested in, so we shall be taking a look into both Pages and Auto Groups to start.

Once we come up with some more detailed design specifications we will let everyone know! :)
