[IMG] responsive

Post by noth » Thu Oct 30, 2014 12:32 pm

I have just seen the new [IMG] responsive in action

I posted an image 1120 wide into a post which would have been ridiculously too wide for the old 3.0.12 forums

in 3.1 the system just shrinks it down to the "maximum available" width and it doesn't matter how small you minimise to, the system just carries on shrinking it

VERY NICE!! :D

If it was a bug, did you submit it to the tracker? Did you post a topic in the Support Forum? I've never ran into this problem though, and I would imagine others haven't either.

Well done guys. :D

I see there are no 3.0.12 to 3.1 update packages (could have sworn I saw one). Do I understand that with this new version then you have only the full package installation option if coming from 3.0.x?

Sadly many of our mods are not available yet, so this is going to delay our upgrade  Will start playing around though.

There isn't much point in an update pack as you'll need all new files anyway. Your users and posts all get carried over though.

That is the folder for third-party software (Symfony, OAuth etc.).

My principal concern "Is this ready for prime time".

By that I mean, availability of styles, mods (I guess we call them extensions now), knowledge base for development, etc ... In other words the background support needed for a highly energetic forum.

I realize it takes a while to build up the array of 3rd party support for a brand spanking new release. Until those things begin to churn, many of us are in a position to have to stick with 3.0.x

How long with 3.0.x be supported before we're forced to adopt the new version?
(The best answer I can hope for is well into the future to allow time for all the things I mention to develop)

BTW if I am in the wrong area for this question, kindly remove me to the correct area.

You should expect official support on here to last about another year or a little bit more.
