I have 2 x phpBB installations. On both:
  • ACH > System > Check for updates
.. says ...
  • Current version 3.0.12
    Latest version 3.0.12
How come phpBB wouldn't be telling me latest version is 3.1.2 ? Even after clicking Re-check version.

because 3.0.12 is the latest version of the 3.0 branch. 3.1.2 is the current version of the newly released 3.1 branch.

two completely different things.

I get a blank white page after update. Tried with AU and even a fresh install. Any ideas?
P.S.: The ACP works fine, but no front end

as the instructions say, you run the database_update.php file after you have replaced all the files with new ones.

Thanks Lumpy.
It has been difficult for me (forum is local, used with Wampserver).
I had 2 messages, after having uploaded 3.1.1 to 3.1.2 and started install :
Warning: require(./../phpbb/class_loader.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp\www\my forum\install\index.php on line 42

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required './../phpbb/class_loader.php' (include_path='.;C:\php\pear') in C:\wamp\www\my forum\install\index.php on line 4210:57 26/11/2014
After that, I uploaded full pack and runned database_update.php
Now it's ok. :D

I think my english is not good enough to well understand instructions.
I saw in Automatic update package:
Point your browser to the install directory, for example http://www.example.com/phpBB3/install/
Choose the "Update" Tab and follow the instructions

sounds to me like you simply did not get all the files on the server. that is what your error message was saying. it was missing a file.
once you replaced all the files instead of using the auto update, the problem was solved.

Hi all,

Updated from 3.1 to 3.1.2 with auto update package. No problems here. ACP shows 3.1.2 version installed. Thank you very much, guys! The update has only taken five minutes and all extensions are working fine, including Tapatalk.
Keep up the good work!

Again, thanks to all phpbb developers!
